About Kettlewind
A Winnipeg training hall teaching awareness, movement and calm self-defense to households and individual students.
Who we are
Kettlewind opened its Pembina Hwy training hall to give Winnipeg households and first-time students a calmer way into self-defense — one built on noticing conditions early rather than reacting to them late. The hall operates as Tactical Taekwondo Limited, and every class runs from that one Winnipeg location.
The courses grew out of a simple observation: most people who want to feel steadier in day-to-day situations are not looking for a competitive sport. They want practical movement, a clear head, and a few tools for awkward moments — a crowded parking lot after dark, a stranger who won't take a calm no for an answer, a child who needs the same vocabulary their parents use.
That is the thread running through all three courses, from a single Family Safety Saturday through to the six-month True North Program.
What we do
Three courses cover the full offer, from a single shared Saturday to a structured six-month programme. Each one teaches movement, awareness and calm communication at a different pace, building from a single afternoon up to a full season of weekly practice.
- Family Safety Saturday — a half-day for households.
- Four Winds Fundamentals — ten weeks of core movement and awareness.
- True North Program — six months of structured depth.
Most students begin with Fundamentals or a Family Saturday and decide from there whether the longer programme fits. We never move someone into True North before they are ready for the pace.
Where we are
All classes run from our Winnipeg training hall at Unit 50 2866 Pembina Hwy, Winnipeg, MB R3T 2J1. We serve students from across the city and the surrounding Manitoba capital region, with most households travelling from within a short drive of Pembina Hwy. Street parking and dedicated customer spots are available right outside the unit, and the entrance is easy to find from the sidewalk.

Who provides the services
Lead instructor
Trained in recognised taekwondo curricula, running the Fundamentals and True North class plans week to week.
Assistant instructor
Supports Family Safety Saturday and helps with individual corrections during larger Fundamentals sessions.
How we work
Every class opens with a short awareness theme before any movement drills begin, so the physical practice always sits inside a bigger idea.
Small groups mean instructors correct individual technique rather than running from the front only, which keeps the pace honest for every skill level in the room.
Weekly notes and take-home cards keep practice consistent between sessions, so progress does not reset every time a class is missed.
